The Future of Organisations in the Era of Artificial Intelligence
“People are tool-builders with an inherent drive to understand and create, which leads to the world getting better for all of us. Each new generation builds upon the discoveries of the generations before to create even more capable tools—electricity, the transistor, the computer, the internet, and soon AGI.”
We are currently experiencing a period characterised by significant uncertainty and anxiety, during which our democratic systems face unprecedented threats not seen since the Second World War. Additionally, human civilisation stands on the brink of a remarkable technological transformation, as artificial intelligence (AI) is set to enter our social structures and cognitive processes in a way unmatched by any previous technology. The implications of this emerging technology, including our clinical and organisational consultancy work, are potentially profound and largely unpredictable.
Therefore, by exploring the underlying power relations through the lenses of shadow, mirror, and light, I endeavour to engage in a critical, reflective, and reflexive discourse on our responsibilities and methodologies as clinicians, consultants, and educators.
To overlook or underestimate the Ai’s impact—whether as a catalyst for disruption and change or as a source of deception and destruction—would be to our detriment
